Post Vday Date (part 2 of 4) : The Illusionists

Honestly, I wasn't really a fan of magic shows. Aside from the fact that I find it unreal, my eyes are too slow to catch the tricks. But it's not something I'm completely crossing off my list of things to watch. The boyfie anyway is so up for it so why not give it a try. And so, we've decided it to be our post vday show to watch.
The stage which changes every time there's a big act.
 15minute break - popcorn time!
All in all, it was a great show! I actually enjoyed the whole thing. There were 6 magicians in the show and I would have to say that The Mentalist is the most memorable one. He didn't have any grand tricks that would require loads of props but he was really good. He left me with an unanswerable question - 'How the hell did he do that?' Who knew that mind reading was really a kind of magic. I guess I will never ever find out. Kudos to the rest of the magicians too - The Grand Illusionist, The Escapologist, The Gentleman, The Trickster and the The Anti Conjuror.
I may not have been able to convince Bu to watch Wicked with me but this time it was different. Magic is definitely the answer. :p

Today's Soundcheck: Magical by Girls Love Shoes

I did a marathon of Jersey Shore last January and finished 4 seasons in 2 weeks! Now they are back for Season 5 and heard this song. Quite a beat! <3 Nice happy Friday song! :)

we were meant to be magical
we were meant to be free
see the sunlight upon our faces
how amazing it could be...

Today's Soundcheck: Get Away by Yuck

This is my 'On-Repeat' song for the day. I like how scruffy Daniel Blumberg's voice is and how rough the guitar mash up sounds. Mariko Doi - one of my top girl crushes. The fringes...that fringes! Haha! The album rocked my socks. Sorry, brain dump! Happy Tuesday, loves!

Summer sun says get out more
I need you, I want you
But I can't get this feeling off my mind
I want you, I need you

Mariko Doi also covered Happy End's Natsu Nandesu! Cool beans! Summer songs everywhere! Natsu Nandesu actually means 'Tis the Summer'. It was originally included on the Japanese release of Yuck.

田舎の白い畦道で
On a white country road
埃っぽい風が立ち止る
The dusty breeze stands still.
地べたにペタンとしゃがみこみ
I drop down to the floor with a bump,
奴らがビー玉はじいてる
as some kids play marbles.
ギンギンギラギラの
Shine-shine, glitter-glitter
太陽なんです
Well, it’s the sun
ギンギンギラギラの
Shine-shine, glitter-glitter
夏なんです
Well, it’s the summer

Post Vday Date (part 1 of 4) : DB Lunch

Bu and I didn't have a chance to celebrate Vday last Feb 14 since he was miles away getting chummies with the elephants :P. He was in BKK for a business trip so it was a long distance / iMessage love affair. Anyway, here's the Post Vday version of our date. The original plan was to eat lunch at Mozza before the show starts. Unfortunately, it was packed and we didn't call to reserve a table...boo hoo! Oh well, thanks to DB for saving the hungry bears and having a table for two available. I'm not complaining, I have eaten there before and it was a fab experience.
This time, we avoided the steak and burgers. It was meant to be a cheat day but we didn't want to push it.
Unlimited bread ftw! We were so hungry we finished the first serving in a heartbeat :|
Bu's Casserole Espagnole (Mussels, Clams, Shrimp, Chorizo, Olives and Tomatoes) - YUM!
My Eggs Benny (Ham, Spinach, Hollandaise Sauce and English Muffin)
Poached to perfection! I'm still dreaming about it :) I wantieeee!
Bu's drink: The Pain Reducer (Green Apple, Lemon and Orange juice)
For dessert: Claufotis Au Chocolat (Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sorbet and Vanilla Ice Cream. Perfect way to end the meal. I can still imagine the warm chocolate syrup oozing from the cake after the first slice. Aww...
Love love the lacey blue dress I wore. Ready for summer :)
Happy Vday Bu! Better late than never! :) Lovely lunch to start our all day date! <3 <3 <3

Tampi Flea...fooling around, yoga poses and then some...

Aside from my lifelong dream to be a cashier, I also wanted to be a designer or a personal shopper. Imagine buying all those pretty little things without slashing off your own savings account? I guess that's how I always looked at it. Sometimes, the climax of happiness in buying stuff is actually in the process not on the 'owning-it-part'. It's true that when you like something - you buy it and you're happy. But have you forgotten that tingly feeling when you are in that particular moment of buying it? That's what I'm talking about! So, in line with this happy feeling...I have decided not to waste my 3 Bangkok trips last year and shopped till I can no longer carry it back here in Singapore. The purpose of these shopping trips - to join FLEAS!

I have been doing bazaars and fleas in the Philippines and it has always been fun! Last Christmas, Rhia and I braved the Fleascape event at Somerset to sell the BKK finds. It was a one day event and it was crazee! It was raining the whole day and the location was in the parking lot. Top it off with stage mums trying to pick a fight. Oh well...experience! Still fun though! Haha. Thanks to our awesome friends for helping us and supporting us that day.

Since we still have some leftover stuff we weren't able to sell, we have decided to join another flea in Tampi. This time it was more chillax and stress free. Well, aside from the bipolar Singapore weather trying to initiate rain showers and sun rays at the same time. Rhia is in Aus so it was me, My and DK left on the flea bandwagon.
 First day setup
Waiting for shoppers

Almost time to pack up - just playing around...Yoga pose 1..planking na lang :P!
Yoga pose 2
Second day setup - no rain this time :)

Halukay ube zone!

The 2 day flea was really tiring but we managed to sell loads of stuff and have fun at the same time. Thanks to My and DK for sharing the experience. And to AM, Ponch, Antoni and Dudang who chilled with us at our stall plus some special guest friends who bought clothes from us. Weee! Bisous!

First Day of My Favorite Month!

Hello March!

Today has been awesome so far. Nothing really special aside from the fact that I'm feeling extra giddy today as it marks the first day of my favorite month. Hello Birthday Month! *woot woot* This morning, Pumpkin randomly brought a cake she baked a night before. It wasn't particularly for me but I just owned it. Hahaha. I felt it was my first birthday cake for the month. Lol! But it was really good...congrats Michy! First cake - success!

Today was also the first time I ate at Kebab Station (Greek-Turkish infused food house near the office). Their Pita Doner wasn't that bad. In fact, I thought it was yummy. I finished the whole thing. Nom nom nom.

The afternoon was filled with work stuff and meetings. Took off at 7PM and did my usual walkathon from office to home while talking to my folks in the phone.

Now, I'm squeezing in a blog post. Have loads of backlog I've been meaning to post. I'll find time this weekend. For now, I'm off to run in the park connector with the boyfie. Must lose weight.

Hopefully, later tonight I can catch the latest episode of Jane by Design and enjoy the rest of the day or whatever is left of it. The 1st of March has shown a lot of promise and fun. How was your day today?
Awesome March ahead y'all!

Beat the HEATH!

Heath is probably one of Singapore Expo's best kept secrets. With too many fast food chains, local cuisine restaurants and hawker center surrounding the area, this place is a breath of fresh air. Found out about it when we were en route to the ticketing counter of A Moving Masterpiece. At first glance, it felt relaxing and quiet. Perfect place for a dinner date, casual lunch or just a nice chillax hang out moment.
And for Makz' bday treat, it was decided - with the scorching hot weather, we had to beat the HEATh! :)

It has a mini bar and seats under umbrellas. So cozy and so homey!
Menu consists of mostly Mexican and Western foodies.
Our great food choices!
1. Spicy Buffalo Wings
2. Matta Ragazza drink
3. Sizzling Beef
4. Grilled Sirloin Steak
5. Pizza Prosciutto Funghi
Team Behdings with Brendan. Thanks Makz for the lunch treat! :)
And the best way to end a great meal....DESSERT!
They have a nice gelato selection!
Nom nom nom for the Rum and Raisin gelato! <3
