Post Vday Date (part 2 of 4) : The Illusionists

Honestly, I wasn't really a fan of magic shows. Aside from the fact that I find it unreal, my eyes are too slow to catch the tricks. But it's not something I'm completely crossing off my list of things to watch. The boyfie anyway is so up for it so why not give it a try. And so, we've decided it to be our post vday show to watch.
The stage which changes every time there's a big act.
 15minute break - popcorn time!
All in all, it was a great show! I actually enjoyed the whole thing. There were 6 magicians in the show and I would have to say that The Mentalist is the most memorable one. He didn't have any grand tricks that would require loads of props but he was really good. He left me with an unanswerable question - 'How the hell did he do that?' Who knew that mind reading was really a kind of magic. I guess I will never ever find out. Kudos to the rest of the magicians too - The Grand Illusionist, The Escapologist, The Gentleman, The Trickster and the The Anti Conjuror.
I may not have been able to convince Bu to watch Wicked with me but this time it was different. Magic is definitely the answer. :p

Post Vday Date (part 1 of 4) : DB Lunch

Bu and I didn't have a chance to celebrate Vday last Feb 14 since he was miles away getting chummies with the elephants :P. He was in BKK for a business trip so it was a long distance / iMessage love affair. Anyway, here's the Post Vday version of our date. The original plan was to eat lunch at Mozza before the show starts. Unfortunately, it was packed and we didn't call to reserve a table...boo hoo! Oh well, thanks to DB for saving the hungry bears and having a table for two available. I'm not complaining, I have eaten there before and it was a fab experience.
This time, we avoided the steak and burgers. It was meant to be a cheat day but we didn't want to push it.
Unlimited bread ftw! We were so hungry we finished the first serving in a heartbeat :|
Bu's Casserole Espagnole (Mussels, Clams, Shrimp, Chorizo, Olives and Tomatoes) - YUM!
My Eggs Benny (Ham, Spinach, Hollandaise Sauce and English Muffin)
Poached to perfection! I'm still dreaming about it :) I wantieeee!
Bu's drink: The Pain Reducer (Green Apple, Lemon and Orange juice)
For dessert: Claufotis Au Chocolat (Warm Flourless Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Sorbet and Vanilla Ice Cream. Perfect way to end the meal. I can still imagine the warm chocolate syrup oozing from the cake after the first slice. Aww...
Love love the lacey blue dress I wore. Ready for summer :)
Happy Vday Bu! Better late than never! :) Lovely lunch to start our all day date! <3 <3 <3

Bonne Saint Valentin!

Today is probably another busy day for flower and chocolate shops, restaurants fully booked and people go crazy. Perhaps for two main reasons:
(1) You are in a relationship/married and you don't know what to give your other half or your date is ruined by some random incident.
(2) You are single and you are stressing about it because this is the day where it seems that you have a label in your forehead - SINGLE!

For the lucky ones who are not feeling antsy or giddy, you are blessed. Cliche as it seems, this day can result to some serious damage to anyone. This day is extra special and some people are at their most vulnerable state.

I must admit, I am a sucker for any occasion. In a year where there are 365 days, you can only count the days when you know something big/weird/special is coming up. These are the marked holidays where everyone else in the world is celebrating, rejoicing or even crying. This day matters. As much as we want to escape the fact that Valentine's Day is nothing....it's really something. You look forward to something good happening today. Isn't that a blessing? It means that hope still sparkles in your heart.

I can't vouch for anyone but myself. Each one of us can deal with this day depending on how we want it to be - a cynic, an optimist or just plainly being happy. It's your choice. So fret not my loves, this is supposed to be a happy day.

This day is a constant reminder that your heart still beats and you are alive. :) Celebrate! Enjoy!

Happy Vday to Mi Love Bu! i<3u

I'm feeling the French vibe today so here's today's soundcheck:

Le Ciel Dans Une Chambre

The sky in a room
When you are close to me
This room hasn’t got any walls
But trees, yes, an infinity of trees
And when you are so close to me
It’s like this ceiling here
Didn’t exist anymore, i see the sky leaning towards us, who remain like this
Abandoned like this,
There is nothing more, no nothing more from the other world
I hear the harmonica, but we would say an organ
Which sings for you and me
Up there in the infinite sky
And for you and for me

When you are here with me
This room hasn't got any walls
But trees, an infinity of trees
And when you are close to me
This ceiling, not purple
Doesn't exist anymore, and i see the sky above us
Who remain here, abandoned like this,
There was nothing more, no nothing more in this world
The harmonica plays, it seems an organ to me
Which sings for you and me
In the immensity of the sky
And for you and for me
And for you and for me

*Hope you'll all have a lovely day today :)

105 months and The Baked Tuna Pasta success!

Last Feb 8, Bu and I celebrated our 105 months of being together. Talk about history! We will be turning 9 this May 8 *happiness*.  I woke up and saw this:
*I died..*
All these years...he never fails to put a smile on my face. I feel so loved. <3

So what better way to return this huge act of sweetness? Do something out of my comfort zone for him - COOKING! I am not the best cook in the world (not even the BETTER cook or perhaps even the worst) so me cooking will be a tragedy in the making!

I remember cooking for him once and it was an ultimate epic fail! Even our house helper thought it was not edible at all! Thats how bad I am in my cooking meter skill. This time I was hoping to up the meter from zero to hero!  Challenge accepted!

Got the recipe from M Pumpkin. Thanks love! This was kind of cheating since the sauce is already pre made...but It wasn't my dream to join the Masterchef cooking reality show so this should do it. As long as it's yummy and ze boyfriend will love it...then I'm fine. :)
The ingredients

1. Leggo's Tuna Bake Spinach and Garlic Sauce
2. Fresh Parsley
3. 4 Cans of Century Tuna Lite
4. Cowhead Pure Milk Low Fat High Calcium
5. Garlic
6. Barilla Integrale Fusilli
7. Del Monte Sweet Corn Cream Style
8. Perfect Italiano Pizza Plus Mozzarella, Cheddar & Parmesan

Steps:
1. Saute chopped garlic in the pan with olive oil until slightly golden brown.
2. Add the drained tuna.
3. Add chopped parsley.
4. Add Del Monte Sweet Corn.
5. Add milk.
6. Add salt and pepper to taste.
7. Set Aside.
8. Cook pasta as instructed.
9. In a bowl, mix the pasta and the sauce set aside previously. Make sure sauce is evenly distributed.
10. Transfer it in a baking foil. Top it with grated mozzarella, cheddar, parmesan cheese, chopped parsley and basil.
11. Place it in the oven to bake (see instructions at the back of the baked tuna sauce container)
12. Voila! Here's the finished product!
It was a success! Thanks Pumpkin and M for helping me!

After a sumptuous meal, of course - we had to burn those extra calories! We ended our monthsary/pre valentines date at the gym <3
Happy 105th and valentines bu! :)
